No - I see this stemming exactly from Baby Bush's "Ownership Society" speech in 2003. You got to KNOW that Baby Bush didn't care if people owned their own homes - what he was doing was giving the banks the permission to start the crazy loans which overheated the economy and ended in one of the most dramatic falls in the stock market EVER in 2008. Republicans don't care anything about you - they create a boom/bust thing - every few years.
Reagan did it with the S&L's - remember? - and we bailed them out with taxpayer funds. Baby Bush was just doing the same thing - but Bush was an idiot, and he overdid it - he allowed the whole economy to explode.
But he then tried to bail out his rich friends with taxpayer funds. In the meantime he started two expensive, stupid and needless wars. Now see if you can blame it on the Democrats.
Because they deflect,,,It actually started when Carter put the CRA into law. And Bush actually attempted to regulate Fannie 17 times. From NY Times - September 11, 2003 The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
