Who wrote the book of Job in the Bible?

Some do, some don't. I've discovered many do not appear to understand the contextual meanings of passages they have only learned from their clergy, often applied out of context. My knowledge of both the Tanakh ( Jewish Bible ) and the various Christian Bibles primarily comes from reading them.

Also, please note that when you say "the Bible" that it depends on which religion to which you refer, because there are different texts called "the Bible" by different religions. I'm one of those oddballs who has been fascinated by comparative religion since I was a child. I've got the Holy books of every major religion in English translation and some not so major.

I have an entire five shelf tall six foot tall bookcase full of books on Judaism. I have books on ancient dead religions whose influences still remain in others. I have several hundred books on religion and associated ancient history and I have more than one Hebrew to English lexicon.

If I read a concept or narrative I have a difficulty understanding and think that my own cultural paradigm may be the root of the confusion, I seek additional information from either a scholarly website online or reference at a library, or from an adherent of the particular religion that I believe displays both knowledge of the subject at hand and a respectful demeanor. In addition to helping to dispel confusion, correct misinformation and counter false charges promoting antisemitism, I also enjoy learning about what others believe. I like to learn what people of the world believe from their own perspectives because I learned at a very young age that far too many people outside a particular religion will seek to justify their own choice by either disparaging or more often misrepresenting the beliefs of others..that has always disturbed me and I have been so adamant against that behavior since I can even remember.

I think that we can better understand the events of history, current events and behaviors of collective groups as well as individuals from learning what they believe and why from their OWN words and behaviors. And I still find all of this a fascinating study of human nature. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... This past answer is also applicable to your question today.

Most americans are not religious. The ones who are religious follow the message set by their religious leaders not from their own reading and understanding of the bible. When it comes to the actual reading there are bibles that put everything is plain everyday english so that is not a problem.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
