Well, those 2 work in a supermarket, so it's not surprising that they aren't majorly enthusiastic in their day-to-day work. Awkward experiences are unfortunately commonplace with shop workers, regardless of their national origin, including the English. And let's face it, supermarket shop floor workers are pretty much at the bottom of the pile of the retail industry, which in itself is a low employment sector to be in to begin with (I speak from experience as a shop worker when I first left school *shudders*) Anyway, the East Europeans are actually warm, friendly and respectful towards us, honestly.
I've met too many of them to keep count. Some of the best people I know have arrived in the UK from Eastern Europe within the last 10 years (Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia), often working in jobs that are actually beneath their skills, intellect and aspirations.
Theyre lucky theyre even claiming our tables.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
