While that's true, today's crime goes beyond what it used to be like "back in the day" Now you get psycos stealing peoples organs while they are still alive, with no anastethics (this they do in albania to serbs) and then selling their organs - no one did that "back in the day" Understandibly, with the growing knowledge of better, more enhanced weaponry, people can now use all sorts of guns and weapons for torture Theyrefore the crimes becoame more vicious and sick ......If you ask me :).
In the past we had less population, and so a smaller number of crimes. Of course this varied region to region, but it did seem as though there weren't so many severe crimes. The perception also may be because you now have a nonstop media and news blitz from the TV, computer, and cellphone.
Seems like all the crimes are now being reported.
Well not sure how old you are but I can recall not having to worry my self stupid about my parents and if some stupid tosser was going to attack them just for kicks..............the difference I have seen within my own life time is that quite frankly less and less people actually put any value on others and it all seems to boil down to I am going to do wtf makes ME feel better and sod everyone else. At one point in time old people did not have to hide behind their doors afraid for their safety as even the aholes had some element of honour and would NOT attack an old or infirm person, but hey its all good as you WILL get to that point in life, just do not come back here peeing and moaning will you.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
