Why are we donating so much to Haiti?

Haiti is a tiny country that was already poor before the earthquake made things worse. Whatever you think of it, if you have the means to help anyone anywhere, then do so.

Actually, people did care about Haiti before the earthquake struck-hence all the U.N. and other relief workers who were ALREADY there volunteering their time before the disaster struck and the parents who were already on the waiting list to adopt a Haitian child. Obviously it just didn't make the news like it did after the quake struck. If people want to help, help.

If not, then just help Americans and shut up about it and stop being angry other people care enough to help. I agree with you 100%. It's not hard to figure out why Haiti even needs help.

Haiti is worse off than other countries after the disaster because it was already one of the poorest nations in the world. And what little they had, is now mostly gone. & I don't mind giving since I'm grateful I even have something to give.

The one thing I can agree with some of these people on is that when the time comes for me to adopt, I am only adopting an American child, since people do tend to forget about them because some people aren't genuinely concerned about the child, they just do certain things because they're trendy or they need to pat themselves on the back.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
