Some animal advocates think that recognition of animal rights means opposition to abortion. Nothing could be further from the truth. Abortion represents a unique moral problem that is replicated nowhere else in society.
Even if the fetus is regarded as a rights-bearing "person" the reality is that this subservient right-holder lives inside the body of the primary right-holder, the mother. We can either leave the decision to terminate the pregnancy to the mother or we can leave the decision to some white male legislator or judge who cannot get pregnant. In our patriarchal society, those are the only choices that we have.
In our view, opposition commits us to support freedom of choice" - Anna E. Charlton, Sue Coe and Gary Francione - "the American Left should support Animal Rights: A Manifesto The bible was written by men so is not even a good litmus test for anything being good or bad. It isn't the word of a god or gods but a man's interpretation of what a god or gods may or may not have said if they existed.
To put it simply, I believe moral and ethical choices should be based on choosing the path of least pain and suffering. When comparing the pain and suffering experienced over a lifetime by a child raised by a parent who doesn't want it and wasn't prepared to care for it, and the pain and suffering experienced by an aborted fetus, I'd have to go with abortion every time. When comparing the pain and suffering of a mother birthing and raising a child she doesn't want, or birthing and giving a child up for adoption, vs. the pain and suffering she will experience from having an abortion, I'd have to choose abortion again.
No woman or child should be forced to experience such pain and suffering by having the option of abortion taken away. Of course, needless to say, the choice involving the LEAST pain and suffering is abstinence, safe sex, or Plan B (which is NOT an abortion pill). I am vegan because it is the path of least pain and suffering, in terms of the animals and myself (my health).
I am pro-choice because after conception, abortion is sometimes the path of least pain and suffering, and should remain available to those who may choose to employ it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
