Why aren't cold sores called Herpes? They are caused by the Herpes Virus 1 which according to doctor?

Get rid of herpes. No need for lifelong medication and embarrassment. Get it now!

Herpes viruses are very common. Typically cold sores are caused by herpes simplex 1 and genital sores herpes simplex 2 but this is not exclusive.

Well it could be because cold sores where not always labeled as herpes or it could be because cold sores are not caused by herpes. Cold sores respond almost immediately to over the counter fungicides and fungicides do nothing to viruses so this suggest only one thing, cold sores are caused by fungus. You will find that a Lotrimin or Tinactin cream will work better on any cold sore than any product or prescription labeled for cold sores.

Enjoy the relief.

I'm not sure but I guess it's the same reason why chicken pox are not called herpes allthough they are caused by the herpes varicella zoster virus which is also known to be the cause of shingles (herpes zoster).

Cold sores" is not a "bad" word. "Herpes" IS a "bad" word. Distinguishing the terms is just another effect of prudishness.

BTW, nowadays you can have both types at both locations. Bwah-ha-ha-ha.

Herpes simplex. It is causes by the same virus. I think doctors don't tell their patient because everyone would freak out!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
