Why do anti-freedom nuts want more gun laws when their states have the strictest gun laws and the highest murder rate?

Not sure what you have against the 2nd amendment. The founding fathers wanted to create a more perfect union of states in order to defend themselves but knew that a central government would lead to tyranny. In order to protect us from federal government imposition, they created a balance of powers where state representatives made the laws.

They also allowed the right to bare arms so that we could protect ourselves from an overreaching federal government. Because of their own selfish interests, government has allowed the president to take on more power. They are OK with it as long as the tyranny matches their own agenda.

If the federal government decided to take away the arm's of "we, the people", then is the appropriate time for millions of armed citizens to take to the streets. Then see how fast the federal government backs down. Disclaimer: I do not own a gun and am against hunting for sport.

However, I want to preserve our free country. There are too many people who want to sacrifice freedom for social justice.

Tanks ARE allowed for ordinary citizens. Do you see a rash of tank related crime from this? Now who is it that looks dumb?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
