Why do dogs nip at other dogs?

Most likely it is just to play. Dogs tend to nip at each sometimes when they are playing as a way of contact. It's also a left over instinct from when they were wild animals to learn to protect vital parts of their body without being in actual harm.

There probably is also an attempt to establish the pecking order to figure out which dog is more dominant. I would take the other dog's reaction into account. If the other dog does not seem to be seriously bothered by your dog's nips, then it is probably not hurting, so it is just an attempt to play.

Yes, dogs will nip at other dogs. From what I understand, a wagging tail does not always mean a happy pet. Look-it up on line.petsareagift.

Dogs wag their tail as a sign of wanting interaction whether that be good or bad. A dog nipping at another dog as you are walking it is unacceptable. If your dog nipped mine you would have gotten a mouthful from me.

Apart from even thinking it may be ok... how would you feel when the other dog nips back harder with its full mouth catching your dogs head in its mouth? No doubt you let it do so many other things that are unacceptable also. You say not acting aggressive in any other way thats what a lot of owners say also after their dog has bitten someone..see where im heading?

Get your dog trained simple. No point having a dog if you don't understand it. Just my opinion.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
