Why do Jehovah's Witnesses call their places of worship 'Kingdom Hall' instead of church? Whose idea was it?

Jesus said, my Father's house shall be called a house of PRAYER. Now go to any denominational church, including the JW, and watch, listen and see how much PRAYER goes on there. They simply do not do it.

The baptists churches I have attended, will have a 1/2 minute prayer, mumbled by only 1 person in the beginning. Then again, before they take up their MONEY. Then again, to dismiss with.

NO GROUP PRAYER. No calling out to God. No lifting up of their voices to God.

I know it is the same in almost all other churches. NO PRAYER. They are totally ashamed to call out to God in prayer.

I have been in Apostolic churches, which did begin with ALL THE PEOPLE PRAYING TOGETHER, before they start their sining. The power and joy of God WAS ALWAYS THERE. So why are the DEAD CHURCHES afraid to PRAY?

I mean pray to get in touch with God. (see how they will run and hide behind the thing of seeking God is your closet? Well I am here to tell you, THAT IS NOT THE ONLY WAY LISTED.

That is just saying to ALSO DO IT PRIVATELY. But to try and hold worship services, WITH NO REAL PRAYER is hanging it up before it starts. They have no idea what true worship is.

Their get-together, is nothing more than a social event.

If ever the verse that says some "having a form of godliness but deny the power thereof" ever made sense, it applies here to your Q, That verse speaks volumes to the sad counterfeit religion of Jehovah Witnesses who deny the True identity of Jesus Christ, who is worthy of Worship & praise! In other words, their idea of worship, though with good intention, is mis-directed They do have a dedicated form of Godliness, no denying that. Yet they deny the True Power thereof in The Word, who created ALL things, and apart from Him NOT EVEN ONE THING CAME INTO EXISTENCE *(JOHN 1:3...NWT) (emphasis mine) Even in the NWT, Jesus, or the Word, is not "created", yet they deny Jesus as God, and thus the true Power thereof.

(*note: JW's cannot reconcile Colossians ch 1 with Jn 1:3 ..."all things" vs "all other things" .) To answer your question, Their "worship" is to Jehovah the father through their works, and yet In Hebrews ch 1, , we are directed to worship Jesus Christ. /dm/ edit ....The supposed founder of Jehovah Witnesses had a much different view of Worship of Jesus that what is taught today . :.... He was the object of unreproved worship even when a babe, by the wise men who came to see the new-born King. Matt. 2:2-11.

Even the angels delighted to do Him honor. "When He bringeth the first-begotten into the world, He saith, "And let all the angels of God worship Him." Heb.

1:6. He never reproved any one for acts of worship offered to Himself, but when Cornelius offered such service to Peter--the leading apostle-- "he took him up, saying, stand up; I myself also am a man." .... I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
