I agree. Many who voted for the Republicans in the midterm elections chose to forget how the Republicans operate. I'm sorry that President Obama cut a deal with the Republicans.
He should let them hold the nation hostage so the people can really FEEL and experience what the Republicans are all America has spoken! So let America reap what she sowed by: 1. Letting tax rates go up for everybody (that's what the Republicans are saying will happen if they don't get what they want).
2. Letting unemployment benefits expire (if you got no money to take care of yourself and your family, then just remember that you have spoken and the Republicans are giving you exactly what you want and deserve). 3.
Letting the government shut down completely (the Republicans have said that if they don't get the tax cuts they want, they will entertain no more legislation come January, but hey! That's ok, the people have spoken!) 4. Not ratifying the START treaty (but again, the people have spoken and they're okay with this).
When the Republicans take over the House in January, they'll pass the Bush Tax cut bill if it hasn't by then. They will then have enough votes to pass it in the Senate when you include a few Blue Dogs. At that point, Obama can veto it, but would look like a complete fool when the veto is overridden.
Basically, Obama had no choice but to agree. Those in congress that still vote against it, will be the first ones targeted for removal at their next election.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
