Why do people think that suicidal people should blame themselves? Why don't people understand mental illness?

You answered my question, so id thought I would return the favour! I understand compleatly, and have been in those situations, pondering wheather to take the pills or to wait. I have been in the situations where I almost cut too deep.

What you NEED to do is get your mum to drive you to the hospital. You walk in there and tell them you don't trust yourself and you don't feel safe. Tell them your depressed and that your suicidal.

They will admit you right there. Tell her honestly that you will end up dead if you don't get help. I understand also that you feel like your at rock bottom, that you want to give up.

Call your therapist, even if you don't really get along with her, tell her what you wrote here and she will have you admitted for sure. I agree with you, it won't get better on its own, you need help, it just takes a bit to find someone you can connect with better. For example my first psych had no experiance with eds ( I could tell) and I could talk circles around her, get out of hard questions etc. my psych now: she is on my ed recovery team, and only works with girls and guys with eds, so I cant get around tough questions, she knows my tricks!

First you can check yourself into the mental ward at a hospital without taking a chance with your life and they do help you there but they do keep you there for at the least 1 week I have been but not to self check in I have more of a problem with homicide than suicide but not about me so the hospital will keep you till you and the doctor feel you are on the right balance of medication and you are not a threat to yourself and ask that you see a therapist and a physique when you get out.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
