Ok, I have been watching A LOT of intervention lately and it seem's like a big reason for people to turn to drugs and alcohol is because of abuse when they were younger, either hitting or sexual abuse, not feeling loved by parents, being pushed to hard by parents, being homosexual and feeling not feeling accepted by family. They say Marijuana is a gateway drug but I seriously think that the "gateway" is all the previous mentioned abuse that turns a person to drugs and alcohol.
I think it's disillusionment with post-industrialist society that we were brainwashed into thinking was great way back when we were kids. Now we're grown up. We did our damndest in school, got that college degree, and work our asses off every waking second. It didn't make a damn bit of difference.
We're still stuck working some dead end retail job if we're lucky, will probably never marry, and end up dying on the way to the toilet in some dilapidated, neglectful retirement home. If someone wants to spend as much time away from reality as possible, I can't blame him.It just doesn't matter anymore.
I dunno... maybe because they're so readily available. It's really sad that people think they could find answers in these things. It could just be that they're awesome...
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
