Yes Bush moved the Navy and Coast guard in Immediately to rescue the people Ray Negen abandoned. The Navy followed the storm in and their helicopters flew in advance as the storm passed onto land. Bush put the full forces of the Fed to work immediately.

We learned they were not up to it at first but they got in gear shortly. Delayed only in Louisiana by the incompetent Governor (D) Blanco. Obama was told immediately but did nothing even though he had dicatorial powers granted him by the clean water act.

The EPA did nothing and only after nine days and constant badgering by the media did they first even mention it. BP said within days that they would honor all claims no matter the cost. 2 weeks later Obama announces he will make them pay.

They were paying and I am sure that Obama`s statement made everyone lawyer up. Obama`s environmentalists prevented the emergency plan, established years ago for this very kind of thing, from being implemented at the beginning when it would have been effective. Governor Jindal requested repeatedly for help and it took 45 days for a response, not the full measure of help.
