Why do you write on hubpages rather than making your own blog?

Hubpages produces hubs not blogs. Hubs are designed to be more detail oriented so they are longer than blogs. Hubpages already has a large community of writers and readers, so hubbers can spend less time promoting their hubs and more time producing quality hubs.It is advisable to produce both hubs and blogs in order to reap the benefits of both.

It is free to write on HubPages; all the capsules and helpful information is made available as one learns and there is a terrific community of writers able and willing to help when one has a question. It is also probably indexed faster gaining greater visibility on the web.

My aim is eventually to set up my own blog in the future. I have only recently started writing and prefer to gain some knowledge and experience in this area before attempting a blog. I need to learn much more about writing, and everyone at HP is so helpful and kind.

The forums here are a great way to learn about all aspects of writing.

Here are the main reasons - # For many people who wants to earn from internet - Hubpages, blogspot and squidoo is the first stage. # You do not need any kind of tech knowledge ... # You do not required any kind of investment (such as hosting or domains)# You do not have to understand how to buy domains, how to arrange hosting and all. # Easy to use# Supportive and awesome community ...

Because writing on hubpages is a fun :-)I have got quite a bit of knowledge, but my writing skills were really tested when I made my first hub. Once you have a good quality hub, its an asset for you and a source of pleasure in its own. Blog on the other hand doesn't test your writing skills too much.

There's no community to share the blog, so if you can somehow check the ratio of actually meaningful blogs on blogspot to the ones just registered and never touched after, it will be a big disappointing figure.

I treat it as a blog. I have earned a pittance here, but writing is more important than money is to me.

Actually I have a blog. But I use it for my Poems and Articles. While on hubpages.Com I post articles that I want to share with whole world since there are lots of readers here.

I love to maintain my own blog -Because I have a freedom of writing anything and I have a freedom of adding anything to it. While on here I post some of my really well edited articles. That is all :).

I am not here to earn money but I have my account integrated with Google Adsense though I don't expect to earn anything. And also I drive a little traffic from here to my blog too. Well it is not like I am using this to promote my blog but I just want to see if people would be interested in reading the Poems that I post on my blog since I don't like to post my poems elsewhere :).

That is all. I'd love to read what your views are on this.

Writing on Hubpages pre-panda times used to be awesome, but now I doubt if it even advisable to write here (sorry if I insult many writers sensibilities, just my candid opinion). With the drastic and devastating reforms carried out by the Hubpages team that led to massive deletion of many quality hubs especially sales hubs coupled with Hubpages losing their Amazon account and so many negative things that has continued to happen since the Panda update I really fear for this site. The recent subdomain approach from the fillers I'm getting hasn't done much.My believe here is that building your own branded blog is far better than investing all your time here.

Sorry for the pessimism!

I do both. I love the blog because it allows for freedom to put your everday life out there if you want. And be goofy.

I am getting to love hubs more because its stretching my writing skills which I admit are amatureish at best.

My answer will be very simple...firstly, The economics of scale is largely the reason. You don't have to bother yourself about the logistics involved in setting up and managing your blogs and promoting it all at the same time...hub pages. Com takes care of that.

Moreover hub pages. Com has a better online outlook, that will take you years to catch up...so you as a street smart writer utilizes that as a leverage...the rest is cool cash inflow.

Hubpages is an established site that the search engines "trust. " When you start a blog from scratch, it takes a lot of work to get to the same level of authoritative content, so writing for hubpages essentially cuts out the site building process and allows your writing to rank relatively quickly in the search engines if it's based on a longtail keyword.

I know it's been said already, but I'll start with hubs do not = blogs. I do both. Hubs let me write about something specific, whereas my blog is chalk full of stuff in my everyday life. It's much more informal and not nearly as structured.

BTW: there are lots of sites that allow you to have a blog for free and maintaining it is just as easy as posting hubs (maybe even easier).

Because I love hubpages. It's a very nice place and enjoy reading beautifully updated hubs every day. By doing this it's easier to compare my hubs with other experts.

Then it becomes amusing to test out my skills and knowledge and improve my style by watching other people's hubs.

I think that everyone who is on hubpages, knows most people here want to write or have someone give them comments about what they can change or how to write better. We are all here I think for the same reasons to become a better writer.

I am completely agree with Jom-Boy ... he described everything perfectly ...

I am not the most creative writer or that good at making web sites or blogs. I have a blog as well as some sites, but I find that using hubpages is just so much simpler to use. I post on my blog more than I do on my hub, but I am sure it will change soon.

Then again I am pretty new at all this, just started about two weeks ago. Anyways, this is my opinion on hubpages and blogs.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
