No idea. The only difference I see is that one party likes to spend your money and doesn't care what you think about it. The other tries to pretend they aren't spending your money and acts like they care what you think about it.
Time, past time for a viable third party.
Haha, I love Writer David's response. But my answer is: ego. I don't understand what's so hard about applying the best/most effective aspects of both parties and dismissing the bad/ineffective.
I suppose people will always argue about who is better. Some will say the Republicans and some will say the Democrats. It is perhaps important to note here that in America you are free to argue who is better of the two main political sides.
There are many nations on earth even in the 21st Century where debating who the better political party or the better leader would be is actually illegal and can have seriouse consquences. For example in China it is still not considered good to debate which the better model of government would be communism or democracy. Also I think people are arguing who is better, the republicans or the democrats right now because many people are facing dire economic challenges.
The world economy is in seriouse recession and business is not performing well. Also many people in America are facing losing their jobs and their homes because of the financial downturn. I suppose that this question and debate of who is better comes up more often because of the difficult circumstances that people are facing.
Some people believe the democrats are better and some say the republicans are better and this topic is being discussed by people all the more at the moment because of the very challenging social, political and economic challenges we live with. Perhaps it is the recession that is bringing this long standing American debate alive. And lets face it the next American Presidential Election is only 19 months away.By 2012 the preliminaries will have opened and if my dates are correct in november 2012 American's will go to the polls again to decide who the next President of the United States will be.
But I do think overall that this debate has more fire than usual in peoples daily lives because people see the problems of the worst economic downturn since the Great American Depression of the 1920's and want to talk about it.
I understand your confusion. Many people get confused about this question. Every time I hear this question the realization of just how confused people are hits home to me.
The thing that you have to understand is, it's not about the opposition between Republicans and Democrats, it's about the opposition between Conservatives (Capitalists) and Liberals (socialists).
It is called a pack thing, all dogs have packs and each one has a leader:).
Beacuse those stupid enough to get into said arguments were raised by folks who were probably related. Truth is, anyone subscribing to the doctrines of either party are fools and brigands. It's these twits that help to propogate things like reality TV and Martha Stewart.
Alas, sadly, the VAST majority of voters will never se thatthere are actual intelligent runners who can actually help save the ation with intellect, skill, science, and excellent track records, but would rather keep the womanising, drunk or stoned, secret male lover having, lying and cheating dirtbags THEY elected in office.
Let's stop being Democrats and Republicans and become Americans again.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
