You need to limit the number of programs running at startup Unfortunately most new computers come with many programs that run when you start your computer. It is very easy to stop these programs from running automatically. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG and click "OK".

Go to the startup tab and just uncheck those programs that don't need to be running at startup. Don't worry about unchecking too many items...you can always enable them again. You will see an amazing speedup in you PC..
