When gun control was at its strictest in the United States, murder was at record rates, over 10 per 100,000. As gun became easier to purchase and carry the murder rate dropped to 5 per 100,000. Modern gun control was originally developed to make it safer and easier for the Ku Klux Klan to lynch those who opposed them, and so that crime boss and Tammany Hall political boss Big Tim Sullivan could protect his criminal henchmen from their victims.
Gun control is the very foundation of Jim Crow, and so gun control advocated are Jim Crow advocates Then there is the argument that we need a WELL REGULATED military, and an armed citizenry is the means used to keep the military under civilian control, or in other words, well regulated.
Gun control only controls the law abiding, the criminal will still have guns. You won't be able to change people's minds, that's almost impossible. Some people are just gun phobic, some are so brainwashed by their political beliefs that they cannot be reasoned with.
Some people just do not take the Bill of Rights seriously unless it concerns what they believe is important. And then there are the people who think a gun crawls out of it's case at night and goes on a shooting spree. Blame the gun, not the shooter.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
