Why is it not recommended to use cast iron cook ware with a ceramic hob?

Generally, the warnings are from the manufacturers of the stove tops (GE is one example). Typically owners of the stoves say that, if they own cast iron cookware, they do use it - but carefully. Some issues tend to occur with the metal heating slowly on the ceramic top as compared to other stove top heating units (like gas).

The real caution is with the beautiful stove surface. Cast iron has the potential to have burrs or other irregularities that could cause major scratches on the ceramic surface of the stove. Inspect your cookware and try not to move it around when using it on the stove to avoid these issues.

If you are choosing cookware, stainless steel or another lighter metal might be a better choice. Enjoy.

Only thing I could think of is the ceramic would be stained by the cast iron.

Why, because cast iron can scratch the top. Some people use it very carefully (even don't slide on the top) and don't harm the top, but it is exactly a risk. If you want to use it, anyway, you can buy a heat diffuser.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
