Why is it you think that so many people are soooo turned off by "religion"?

Truthfully, I never liked my religion, I was raised Catholic, and always found the Sunday mas boring, repetitive, and quite a pain to have to sit through. However, my mind was way too young to intellectually understand religion and the Bible. When I turned 21, I decided I wanted a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and I knew that the Catholic church wouldn't teach that - my solution, become Protestant.

The more I learned about the Bible - same time I was attending college - what I learned was something I didn't expect...which is that the Bible is just filled with horrible things, way too many fairtytales, and things that never stood testing. I decided to deconvert into a theist - of no religion. I continued learning more and more about logic, science, and the Bible..and it didn't take long to become atheist.

I guess it was just the emotional attachment. Now, I know that there has yet been a good logical argument for God, let alone any evidence. At 22, I become an atheist.

I was not raised in a religious family. My parents never took me to church or anything. I was turned off to Christianity as a young man when I saw phony TV evangelists acting like clowns and asking for money every 5 minutes.

Fortunately for me, God called me to a good church later on where I learned the truth and became a Christian.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
