The overwhelming majority of Christians believe the doctrine of trinity. The *very basics* of that doctrine are these: a) There is only one, united, indivisible God. B) God exists as three separate "persons" (I prefer the term "individuals") - the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Even though God exists as these three separate persons, they are all one, united, indivisible God. Indeed, all 3 persons are *the very same one God*. To reiterate: the Father is not the same person as Jesus; however, the Father and Jesus *are* the same GOD.
If this seems difficult, remember: we are discussing the nature of a supernatural entity. Naturally, the nature of such an entity should not be expected to resemble that of any "natural" entity with which we are familiar. Now, a Biblical Scripture that identifies Jesus as God: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?sea... Notice that Jesus personally blesses everyone who believes what Thomas exclaimed!
Finally, a more in-depth but still comprehensible explanation of the doctrine of trinity, if you are interested: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_P... - Jim http://www.bible-reviews.com.
You could probably find this out by taking some theology at the Catholic University you attend. Sounds like your friends might benefit from that also. Only God is Savior, and besides God there is no other.
God ALONE is KING. Jews ironically are the one's whom's hope is in a mere man, Christians hope is in God alone. Jesus is the eternal WORD of God incarnate, made flesh.
And God's only Son, his ETERNAL Word was rejected by the Jewish nation and sacrificed just because they feared losing some stupid land. Edit: The Romans carried it out, and it was Pilate's call. But this was done at the behest of the Jewish leadership.
Jesus was rejected by the Jewish nation, including his own disciples. Everyone rejected the King and Savior, God, and for what? To preserve their own lives and nation.
This is the same reason people performed human sacrifice: self-preservation. God hates human sacrifice, in all its manifestations.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
