Yes, With an appropriate power cord or convertor & an appropriate display. Yes, With an appropriate power cord or convertor & an appropriate display.U.S. Sony PlayStation 3 has a "universal power supply",either 120 VAC or 240 VAC(make sure you double-check your PS3's label)en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3_hard... you will need a IEC C13/C14 power cord with a 220-240 VAC plugappropriate for the European country you are in, orAlternatively:You will need a power convertor (voltage transformer)rated at least 380 watts (bigger is better)to convert from European power outlets (they vary from country to country)which accept different plugs and output different voltages (200-250 VAC)to the U.S.Standard plug and 120 Volts AC (alternating current). North America (NTSC) and Europe (PAL or SECAM) have different standards for how color information is encoded in a video signal. HDMI and Component Y-Cb/Pb-Cr/Pr cables separate out color information in the video signal, so those monitors are more "international". I am also looking to buy a ps3 in the states and taking it to europe (sweden). My only questions are, have you done it and has it worked? I emailed sony and they said that there might be some problems with the psn if I take a us made ps3 to sweden and try to use it but it wasnt certain.

1 "I wouldn't ask for a more thorough answer. Thank you very much. So if I plug it HDMI I'm not only avoiding wrong or missing colors but getting the best picture quality, right?"Yes, if you have a HDMI monitor available in Europe, and since HDMI is digital (best picture), andyou do not have any of the NTSC (North America)versus PAL or SECAM (Europe) composite color-encoding issues(NTSC video on a PAL/SECAM monitor often comes out in distorted Black & White).

2 I am looking at moving to Europe. Would like to be able to have the option of satellite Sky TV or some other good cable options in Europe. If I buy a US Sony TV and US Sony PS3 and use HDMI connections from PS3 and whatever cable/satellite service I choose, will I be ok?

I ask particularly about Sony as they seem to have 120V-220V in my local Best Buy, but the other manufacturers seem to have 120V only. Thanks! .

LeheckaG replied to post #2: 3 A Sony automatically-switching 120/240 VAC device will likely just need a different power cord or a convertor plug (US plugs are mechanically-physically different than European wall outlets). Satellite Sky TV will depend on whether or not your satellite receiver can output NTSC/ATSC US standard video instead of PAL European standard video. Also television/video connectors in Europe are typically different than US connectors.

For the above two reasons, Cable television will likely NOT work unless it outputs NTSC/ATSC (fairly unlikely) and can connect to "US" style connectors on your Sony television (it is probably possibly to get an adapter box or plugs). Depending on what you interconnect, you might run into an issue with the European AC line frequency being 50 Hertz (cycles per second) instead of 60 Hertz (US).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
