Will criminals obey the law if assault weapons are banned?

The reason why so many politicians (mostly left wingers, some right wingers) are backing this sort of legislation is because they see their chance now, while emotions are high and the majority of Americans back their proposals. They have been waiting for a time such as this to pass said legislation, riding on the backs of the emotional. And that's not just my theory, that's largely fact.

There are articles that quote Sen. Dianne Feinstein as saying they need to act now to get anything passed. Sorry, I can't recall where I read that exactly.

To be effective and fair, any bill such as this should be patiently constructed then proposed after Americans have had time to think clearly. Even in the past 2 months, American's support has gone down a few percentage points. They're throwing it all together so fast that it is likely not to pass anyways, due to lack of Congressional support, considering it even gets proposed in the first place.

The bill contains some logical theories, but has been drafted and presented illogically. So it is logical, just not at this time. Spoilers: I am 100% against this legislation, and am trying to give you an unbiased answer.

Some major problems of the bill is that it covers only semi-automatics that have detachable magazines. Let's say both assault rifles and high cap mags would be banned. This would solve little if any of the problems they're addressing.

They would need a proposal to ban all semi autos; that would be effective towards they're "safety". A bill such as this would never be passed, though, so they're trying to chunk it out bit by bit. Again, there are some logical points in it, but many other points are based in ignorance on the topic of guns and will be largely ineffective at solving any problems, thus being "illogical".

Depends who you are and what your state of mind is to find any logic/fault with this bill. That's about as unbiased as I'm capable of.

There is no logic. Only an emotional, moronic knee-jerk reaction from the dumbed down faction of the general public.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
