Will the impending Republican tsunami be downgraded to a tropical depression by the time of the mid term elections?

2 Well, the Tea Party tsunami might be downgraded. Last night I read about Democrats who were entering elections as independents trying to proclaim themselves as Tea Partiers, but in the meantime, they're acting as spoilers to pull votes away from Republican candidates and swing the vote to Democrat candidates. Dirty pool, but it might work in the Governor's race here in Massachusetts in a three-way race.

LouLou replied to post #2: 3 this always worked for them before. Hopefully people will be more aware this time to the dirty going on.

4 I think meteorologists have been consistently overplaying the force of the republican tsunami, but time will tell. As far as the contention that democrats are claiming to be tea party candidates, I thought the tea party was not a political party...? .

I fear voting laziness, which is typical in a non-presidential election, and perhaps some who are disgusted with the economy and wanted instantaneous gratification , will hold off voting - these are the issues that have to be addressed by democrats. The power given to corporations means 200 million dollars in special interest committments to support the Republicans to date. That's a real problem and that law is about as moronic as it can get.To give power to entities that have no interest in the public good but only bottom line profits is a formula for disaster for he country as a whole - both parties and it's totally weird that the tea party would have supported that when they claim they want the power given back to the people.

It's like trust Massa to decide to free the slaves. Bizarre. The Democrats have launched a grassroots effort called "The By the People Fund.

" In the past, democrats and supporting independents have given a great deal. Whether they can still turn to the people during these difficult economic times is a serious question. Even those with jobs are nervous about losing them.

I don't express myself well in political commentary. I hope I was clear enough.

6 Don't count chickens before you see the feathers.

Because of the amazing polarization between parties now, and the refusal of Republicans to vote as anything other than a single organism, I can't see how anyone who was disgusted by the Bush administration and turned to the philosophies presented in the last election could swing so far to the opposite direction unless they were completely unthinking. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
