My neighborhood is having a garage sale this June. We'll be moving in so we won't have much stuff BUT I wondered if people would be willing to buy some new items. Some of them are crafts -- like baby bows and headbands.
And I thought perhaps I'd host an Usborne book fair. The books aren't cheap, but they are good quality. Would people who shop garage sales be willing to pay a little more for new quality items?
Or do they just want rock bottom steals? I don't shop so I'm clueless. Asked by keobooks 8 months ago Similar questions: people buy crafts items garage sale bargain basement Lifestyle.

They will offer you $1 for a valuable antique so I would say, wrong market.
Yeah, most of my friends who are die-hard garage salers will buy TONS of junky stuff that's really nasty, but ONLY A DOLLAR. But they won't buy something that's MUCH better quality for two dollars. But I thought that was just the way my friends were.
I consider a dollar spent on nasty junk to be a dollar wasted. So I mostly stay away from garage sales. Keobooks 8 months ago .
Most people will be looking for cheap stuff, but some people go looking for collectables and are willing to pay for something they think is of value. Give it a shot, if the crafts are of interest for someone they might just make an impulse buy.
I could try it. The book fair stuff will be from my own stash of books that I will be buying to run a few book fairs in the future. It never hurts to put out a few and see if they sell.
The crafts are pretty low budget, so I could sell them fairly cheaply but I'd at least like enough so I can buy more materials to make more of them. Keobooks 8 months ago .
Wouldn't hurt to try, if they won't pay what you want, the NO sale.
My friend is a crafter, she does good business there. etsy.com/ com.
That's a good idea. I just wanted to participate in the neighborhood garage sale even though we won't have too much to sell. Keobooks 8 months ago .
It can;t hurt to try and the neighbors will know what you hae available when they do need a nice hand-made gift.
That's nice to know! Also you gave me an idea. After I move, I'll be starting up my very small business of selling books at private or small public venues.
I wanted a way to get the word out without being pushy. I will NOT host a show at my housewarming party. I don't want anyone to even be able to think that I just invited them to sell or promote books.
Anyway, I could just put out a bookfair of my on hand stock and even if I don't sell any, my neighbors will most likely come by and see it. Maybe they will remember me when their church or daycare has a fundraiser. SO thanks!

I'm a sucker for a bargain - for items I'll use. Example:" "How do I get to the Amazon bargain basement page?" "How do I get my client to not have her garage sale in her basement? It is this summer on cape cod.
" "I am looking for a tradewinds book that has used furniture, cars, new animals, farm equipment, garage sale items, etc." "does anyone know of a website you can purchase cheap items, garage sale prices.
How do I price household toys and items for a garage sale.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
