A bit of fun for a Friday. The TV and DVD player are on the island already and, even if your chosen sitcom isn't in reality available on DVD, we can pretend it is! Asked by Huckleberry 54 months ago Similar questions: spend year desert island allowed complete run sitcom Entertainment > Television.

Friends I can't believe that's my answer! Friends is not my favorite show of all time....but I gave your question a lot of careful consideration, and had to eliminate some of my real favorites: -Arrested Development (too short of a run, not enough to keep me entertained) -Roseanne (I only like the early seasons, the laters ones just make me angry) -Seinfeld (I've already seen and memorized all the episodes too much thanks to syndication) -Gilmore Girls (I wasn't sure if this was really a sit-com or more of a drama) -The Brady Bunch (even I don't know if I can handle that much Brady) -The Simpsons (might warp reality too much - plus if I have to see one more crappy guest star...) -The Cosby Show (then I'd have to see that horrible Olivia girl....bleccch! ) Friends wins out hands-down because: 1.) It's long-running with lots of seasons to hold my interest.
2. ) It didn't have any particularly painful season that are unwatchable (ala Roseanne), so the whole series is viable viewing pleasure.3.) This show has a nice mix of comedy that can make me snort chocolate milk through my nose, along with some intense drama. It's good to mix things up a bit!4.
) The guest stars don't annoy me too much (ala The Simpsons).5.) It Friends! It's freakin' hilarious! Need I say more?
I can just see the scene when the rescue boat finally arrives to come and get me. First words out of my mouth: "Oh-My-Gawd! SCRUBS! I totally love the show. Own season 1,3,4 and watched all at least twice.
I still laugh at their antics. I surely will miss scrubs once it goes out of the air. Well, there are so many from which I could choose, so I'm going to go with the first one that leapt to mind... ... the original Bob Newhart Show! The one where he’s a psychologist in Chicago, married to Suzanne Pleshette, etc. I love that show! And, there are enough characters, both regulars -- like his receptionist (Carol), the dentist in the office building (Jerry) and the pilot that lives across the hall (Howard) -- and guests -- like his patients!
-- to keep me interested. It’s witty, and it’s intelligent, and Bob Newhart is just hilarious. S "phone conversations", where one only hears his side of the conversation, are classics!
I love that show. What a fun question -- thanks! FRASIER! No question in my mind. The hands down winner is .. .
Frasier!.
By sitcom "situation comedy", I'm going to assume you mean any 1/2 hour program whose main purpose is comedy. Because I would probably want to go with Saturday Night Live, if it were a sitcom, but I suppose that is probably more a "variety" show? I grabbed that one because even though it's had its ups and downs, there have been a lot of ups, and if you look at the fact that it's a 90 minute show with probably on average 20 minutes of commercials, it does 20 season episodes and has aired for 31 seasons, you have about 800 hours of programming.
If I spent 4 hours a day watching TV, that means it would keep me entertained for over 1/2 that year. So, with the fact that I'd get to see hundreds of different performers, I'd have both comedy and music built in, I'd see so many things I loved and so many things I'd forgotten, I think it would be the ideal choice. However, I'm guessing that isn't really a sitcom. So, I think there have been a lot of great sitcoms over the years, some of them I'd LOVE to see every episode but don't have time, so I'd start to think about shows that maybe I know I liked what I saw but haven't seen all of it.
But then I think, that's a double edged sword, because what if I remembered it more fondly than I really feel about it now? So, there's tried and true, but again, don't want to see something I'm bored of. I also want to go with longevity...something that has a lot of episodes, because in a year's time, I'm going to exhaust my material pretty quickly, even if I have a show with a lot of episodes.
Well clearly there's one show that stands out as my all time favorite 1/2 hour comedy program. It also happens to be the longest running sitcom in TV history, now having aired over 400 episodes. I have probably seen most if not all of the first 8 or 9 seasons, but since then I know there are a lot of episodes I've missed because I now have a son and don't watch TV as religiously as I used to.
So, for me, the Simpsons would be the real deal. Like I said 400 episodes, at I believe 22 minutes each is still over 145 hours of TV. If I watched 4 hours a day, I could probably watch every episode 10 times, and with a show like the Simpsons, I think most episodes are re-watchable to that degree.
So, you can sign me up, but only if I can bring my Zune...I can fit about 750 albums on that bad boy, and I like music better than TV anyway! .
If you were stranded on a desert island....
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
