10 POINTS - Why does my PS3 does not detect External Hard Disk?

Any external hard disk/thumb drives will work with the PS3 as long as it's USB 2.0 and below.

As big as you can afford- the size shouldn't make a difference however some brands might not work with the ps3, check the compatibility before you buy.
