No...because the people who mention it are throwing "your" logic back in your face. The history of slavery is used constantly... all violence of the past for that matter... is used by many non-whites to draw parrallels to today... that ALL white people alive right now are somehow personally responsible. NOW LISTEN to this very carefully, especially if you want to PRETEND you are non-racist... white privilege, critical race theory and all the rest... DOES hold ALL white people personally responsibile for it all... THERE IS this ideology, that we all MUST treat all white people with a different standard than non-whites, that there SHOULD be a different level of accountability for EVERYTHING.

And this kind of racist cowardice...is done by people that call themselves "good" and "non racist" when you don't have individuals to point a fingure at... assign collective responsibility. By talking about specific things about slavery, only certain aspects of slavery, and re defined concept of what slavery was... and sticking it to "all" white people.... it helps sell and justify that anti white racism. When it comes to the transatlantic slave trade... you racist, the OVERWHELMING majority of white people had nothing to do with it.

Many white people werent even independent, still living under the thumbs of the ottoman empire THROUGHOUT the entire history of the transatlantic slave Trade.... many not even becoming free themselves until AFTER the end of slavery in the usa. How does that reality fair with the COLLECTIVE responsibility you want to push on all white people? And yes, you do want to push it... the only institutionalized racism that does exist, exists towards white people...from affirmative action to hate crime laws that are applied differently...there IS a double standard that exists, purely along racial lines.

You shrug and pretend it has nothing to do with you... but YOU do benefit, and it IS done in your name.. and the "good" people like you, when you talk about racism... you have nothing to say on it, you NEVER do. Why is that? Slavery is more preferable a topic than what does happen right now today.

That many white people Didnt. The first legal slave owned in the USA was a black man owned by another black man. The majority of slaves ever stolen from africa, were sent somewhere else BESIDES america..to countries you DO NOT hold as personally accountable as you would anyone white anywhere in the world.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
