Agree or Disagree: Rock did NOT Put-Over John Cena?

It started out as a just a "dream" match, two icons from different eras facing each other for the first (and presumably, only) time. The fans picked the heel in this feud, The Rock. Cena hasn't done or said anything differently in his dealings with The Rock from anything he's done or said the past several years.

There is no question that Cena is the WWE's top face. Everybody agrees on that, even the most fanatical of Cena-haters. The Rock started out with Cena no different from any other feud he's had (as a face).

Then he did something he's never done before as a face: attack and belittle the fans. Always before it's been "the millions and millions of The Rock's fans" with The Rock as the center of attention, The Rock assuming that everybody is The Rock's fan. That's cool, he's just being The Rock.

But then he jumped on the "only women and kids like Cena" bandwagon implying that women and children don't matter and their opinions and feelings don't count. That's what heels do, dismiss the fans and their opinions. He further implied that because those meaningless women and children are fans of Cena therefore Cena is meaningless, too.

He not only got that bone stuck in his teeth, he encouraged his own fans to do the same to Cena and Cena's fans. That's what heels do, try to turn the fans against the faces (and their fans). Cena is there every week in the middle of the ring.

The Rock is not. He doesn't give any explanations for his absences, he just sends in a taped promo once in a while or does one on Twitter, making it look like he's ducking a face to face confrontation with Cena. Heels duck faces, not the other way around.

In the storyline is The Rock "an actor too busy to show up much"? Don't know, the WWE doesn't say and The Rock doesn't refer to himself as an actor too busy to show up. He just doesn't show up and doesn't offer any reasons why.

Cena IMPLIES that The Rock is an actor "too busy" to show up for the fans, but The Rock doesn't respond to that. So what IS The Rock in this storyline? If they (the WWE or The Rock) would just say he can't show up very often because he's in the middle of making a movie, that would be fine, and would explain his very limited appearances.

But the way they've played this thing out makes it look like The Rock talks a good game but is actually ducking Cena. That's a heel. We know the match is set for April 1 but when have the WWE ever had two opponents NOT have several confrontations (verbal AND physical) before the official PPV match?

Cena doesn't bash The Rock's fans. He doesn't bash The Rock, either, except for his prolonged absences. Cena's whole "rap" has been "I'm here every week, Rock, let's do it.

Where are you?". The Rock bashes Cena and Cena's fans constantly, though he HAS toned down the bashing of Cena's fans lately. But the fact remains, The Rock never had to bash anybody's fans before to get over (or remain over).

Why is he doing that now, with this feud? Faces don't bash fans. The Rock's whole "rap" has been coming up with various catchphrases to call Cena a "girl", things he can get the fans to chant.

Insulting opponents' manhood and their courage/toughness is what heels do. As is trying to turn the fans against the face. There is no question here.

Cena is the face, The Rock is the heel. The only "hypocritical" part in this whole thing is The Rock's stance that "I love the WWE, I love the WWE fans, I'm home, and I'm never leaving again", then taking off for months at a time with no explanation for what he's doing. Yeah, we know he's an actor but he doesn't even play that up heelishly by staging promos from his movie set, acting like a prima donna movie star, surrounded by his "people" doing various things for him, and having the Director calling his name to hurry him into the scene.

He's just disappears for months then shows up to repeat catchphrases calling Cena a "girl", getting the crowds to repeat them as chants, and endlessly putting over Twitter. One simple statement from The Rock on RAW (not Twitter) would put to rest all of that: "hey folks, I'm an actor, I'm shooting a movie. I can't be there every week because of that, but I'll be there whenever I can."

Not complaining that people want to hold him to his word.

To be honest I think The Rock is hypocritical he claims that the WWE is his home he was never leaving but soon as he got a taste of Hollywood BAM he was out the door so fast yes John Cena has done some movies but he stayed even while filming his movies The Rock claims to love the fans but the only reason he is doing WM is because of it being in Miami his home town and the fact he will get a HUGE pay day probably more then anyone that night The Rock is so osbessed with Cena's Balls he even went far as to tell someone in the crowd to Rise Above Nuts (check out the exclusive video on wwe.com). They both are big time stars but when it comes to it the crowd makes The Rock face and John Cena heel as he will be boo'd so bad out of Miami To be honest like most people I will be glad when it is over They should of waited til the start of 2012 to start the feud a year long feud between these two have been so boring its like okay we get it already get over it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
