It was never an issue until the GOP far-right neocons/proto-fascists made it one. Divide and conquer is a good tactic, as is "wack a mole", i.e. , find an enemy and promise your target audience that you will get that enemy, and your supporters will be on top.

So, create a problem, make a solution to it and promise to raise up your people. LIke with any religious or charismatic leader dealing with low-IQ low info xenophobic racist people, this crap works. Think Hitler or Trump.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
