Are proper capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and phrasing important for Hubpages Questions?

I do think that is it important. You are still representing yourself, and your correct use of basic English grammar and spelling rules should be consistent in all of your writing -- hub, forum, or question.

I concur with the rest of the answers. A few typos are okay -- they happen. A complete disregard for the language you are trying to write in is a turn off from reading it.

A side note though; if it's prefaced with something like, "I don't speak English well," I tend to be more understanding as they have submitted a reason why it's difficult to read what was written.

I too think it is important, using proper grammer, spelling and punctuation in the questions and forums. If I see a nonsensical question I will more than likely not visit their pages to read their Hubs. Typo's happen, I do not necessarily look at those.

The use of 'texting' such as "u r gr8" in the question section, seems to be more of an irritation. If a person can't take the time to properly type out a question, I might not take the time to answer it.

It is probably best, some people enter statements and expect the audience to be mind readers, it isn't difficult to phrase a question correctly, reading text doesn't let us hear the intonation. It is probably helpful to actually ask the question you want answering. We also have to remember, there are some members with English as a second language, it isn't doing them any favours to see incorrectly spelled and phrased questions; and worse still, questions written in text speak or other gibberish.

This is a site for writers', and I personally do not like crappy grammar.

Yes, and thank you for using the Oxford comma. Grammar is important to anything you write if you want to be taken seriously. Bad grammar draws the reader away from the points you're trying to make and act as continual roadblocks to clarity of thought and communication.

No, if you want to give the impression of being stupid or careless. If you want to create a good impression, which may perhaps lead to Hub followers, business, or some other goal, then they are important. e-commerce-biz.com/articles/internet-bu.

I would have to agree. While most people don't care for grammar or punctuation, it does make the question easier to read. It is also helpful when a question is actually asked.

I don't think it's crucial but it's good to help people understand what you're trying to say.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
