Yes as Doc Humphreys said you can clean, dry and slice them up and freeze them. You could also use them to prepare things like sauces, etc then freeze it for later. If you still have way too many, you can donate them to a food bank or a meals on wheels type program that prepare meals everyday for the needy.In this awful economy, they would probably appreciate it very much.
Slice them up and put them in a freezer bag and freeze them. They will only keep about 6-8 months and will be only good as an additive for cooking.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
