Can you suggest any good homemade Halloween costumes I can make myself?

Scarecrow costumes are easy to make from old clothes; if you don't have any old jeans or overalls and a flannel shirt you can pick them up at a thrift store cheap! You can use real straw for an authentic look but it is messy and itchy, so you might want to substitute yellow raffia from the craft department. Here's an article I published a while back that gives more details about how to make an authentic scarecrow halloween costume.

I can think of a few different Halloween costumes that could be made at home and some that perhaps you won't have to make. If you or anyone in your family is a member of a sports team and has a uniform, you could dress as an athlete. I did that one time.

I played baseball and still had my old uniform so dressed in that, just added a little black under my eye, like players do to shade the sun and put on some sunglasses. If that isn't a viable option, you can make a ghost or ghoul costume. You just need a sheet, cut out holes for arms.

If you have some makeup you can use that on the face to mimic scars, cuts, blood, etc. I dressed that way once as a kid, using my brother's special makeup kit designed specifically for Halloween. Another easy one is a scarecrow. You just need some old jeans or overalls, a straw hat, maybe a pipe and you're good to go.

You can get very creative with a scarecrow.

Last year a friend of mine came up with this creative costume idea. A Jellyfish Costume Take an umbrella (Open it! ) and cover it in pink (or clear) bubblewrap.

Cut the bubblewrap so that it looks like long tentacles. Attach two small flashlights inside the umbrella. This looks so cool!

It looks like one big slimy jellyfish. When you are under the umbrella, you can twirl it around to make it look like a real jellyfish. Another alternative to using the flashlights: you can attach battery operated small lights to the inside of the open umbrella.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
