Yes, I always feel nostalgic when I listen to some songs because I love music way back when I was in There are some songs that I associated with the movies I have seen and enjoyed watching, songs that my father used to play when I was sleeping, songs that my father love to listen and dance doing the cha-cha, boogie or tango, songs that made me remember my first crush (Tom Cruise...:-)) songs that reminds me during my college days, when my boyfriend and I were far apart,my wedding, when I work and live alone in the U.S. And there were too many that I triggers some fun and not so happy memories. So every time I want to reminisce, I just turn on my stereo and listen to the songs of the 80's and 90's. These are the songs that help me remember most and made me feel a sense of nostalgia.

See, I associate songs with memories -- sometimes, the place I first heard it; other times, a memorable event that happened when I was listening to that song; other times, something I made up completely out of thin air to go with that song: a story, a music video, anything like that. And once I come up with this, it's an indelible part of the song, almost as if it was written in.As for what exactly those are, most of them are a bit too personal to share here.
But I will say that any song that's one of my favorites probably has a whole book's worth of memories written into it. It's interesting to me. Almost as if I'm collaborating with the artist.
To me music is the perfect time traveling machine. It takes me back to an exact moment in time. I can be back to being a teenager walking into my friends house and remember exactly the smells, the sights and the feelings of that moment simply by hearing a song that was playing when I did that for the first time.
Yes most of the songs I grew up with remind me of a person or a time and place in my life.
