Do you find yourself fated to doing things you tell yourself not to? Not big, Life things, just?

I thought I was the only one. It's usually a sock or stockings. I don't think it has to do with lack of attention or anything like that. It's just that I have too many things in my hand and the smallest items come loose.

One thing always manages to drop on the floor when I'm unloading the dryer, no matter how much care I think that I'm taking. Energy goes where attention flows, so perhaps that's why it happens. Somewhere in my unconscious I think that I expect it to happen, and so it does.

Or is that perhaps just part of the process of unloading the dryer? Would it help if I reduced how much I put in the dryer? I think that I have tried that and still managed to drop at least one item.

Joy.joy. Joy, Thank you for your answer. I really like the imagery of the Japanese proverb about snowflakes falling to their appropriate place.

What I'm looking for are answers on a much smaller scope. Dropping the laundry is one example; another is when you tell yourself, "Be careful with this. It's fragile." and then two seconds later you break it.

It seems odd that for small, simple tasks I do exactly what I tell myself not to do. Is this common?

Try to let the moment pass without judgement of right or wrong either way. I think this illustration can be applied to everything in life. How much easier is it dealing with children, for example, when we have completely open expectations.

The more we place expectations the more we are not living in the present. Trust that you are always doing 'the next right thing'. Most of us carry shame that's been embedded from childhood and we don't even know it.

If you can assure yourself that your heart is in the right place, you don't have to constantly needle yourself to get things right and dwell on things that 'go wrong'. My favorite ancient Japanese proverb applies here: snow falls, each flake in its appropriate place.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
