Do you have a Father’s Day tradition you do each year to honor and remember your father who has passed?

My father died of cancer the day after Father’s Day 2001. We feel he held on until all his out of town children and grandchildren could be with him on that Sunday – Father’s Day. Then he left us the following Monday.

Now each year we honor him on Father’s Day by watching his favorite movie - Dr. Zhivago and eating and drinking his favorite food and drink. Last year at 3pm in the afternoon a mother deer and two fawns showed up on our back patio – just in time for the party! We all were silent for a moment, as we felt their presence.

It was wonderful to have such beautiful and unexpected guests at our 2007 Father’s Day remembrance party. We wonder what or who might show up this year? Asked by TJRock 42 months ago Similar questions: Father’s Day tradition year honor remember father passed Family > Parenting.

Fortunately, my Father is still with us, and the holiday will be a good one. I do like your story though. I'm not a big believer in signs and omens, but I do think they happen sometimes.

Perhaps the deer was a gift to you and yours, to remember to include some happiness in with your solemnity. I wish you well, and know that your "friends" have you (or at least the virtual you) in mind.Peace. Sources: opinion .

My dad used to love to watch the sunset Dad passed away of Parkinsons Disease, he held on until all of his children arrived. He did not want my middle brother to see him go. Just as he pulled into the yard, dad passed.

Each year I stand outside and watch the sunset and remember him saying "what color is the sky? " I would say red, orange and such - dad would say "it's sky-blue-pink! " I will never forget that saying. As I stand there and watch the sunset, I open a can of his fav.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
