The unit includes a computer controller which controls all aspects of the operation of the unit based on information from sensors located throughout the unit. The unit includes a smart logic thermal controller to adjust the output heat of the unit via a variable speed air inducer.

The three stage heat exchanger system includes a spiral water jacket surrounding the burn pot, a plurality of heat exchanger baffles in the unit, and a fine finned heat exchanger at the top of the unit. The air inducer provides air to the burn pot from three directions to promote complete combustion. Primary Examiner:Rinehart, Kenneth B.

Invasive species See also: List of invasive species, Introduced species, and WeedKudzu, a Japanese vine species invasive in the southeast United States, growing in Atlanta, Georgia"Invasive species" is a phrase with several definitions. The first definition expresses the phrase in terms of non-indigenous species (e.g. Plants or animals) that adversely affect the habitats they invade economically, environmentally or ecologically. It has been used in this sense by government organizations12 as well as conservation groups such as the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).3The second definition broadens the boundaries to include both native and non-native species that heavily colonize a particular habitat. The third definition is an expansion of the first and defines an invasive species as a widespread non-indigenous species.3 This last definition is arguably too broad as not all non-indigenous species necessarily have an adverse effect on their adopted environment.

An example of this broader use would include the claim that the common goldfish (Carassius auratus) is invasive. Although it is common outside its range globally, it almost never appears in harmful densities.3Because of the ambiguity of its definition, the phrase invasive species is often criticized as an imprecise term within the field of ecology.3 This article concerns the first two definitions; for the third, see introduced species. The top or side discharge and inlet matter on a whirlpool low profile electric hot water heater... Whirlpool hot water heaters supply hot water to residential buildings. Though they don't often require maintenance, Whirlpool hot water heaters should be drained every six to eight months to remove sediment deposits in the water tank. Sediment in the hot water heater tank could damage components of the unit, which could require costly repairs.

Whirlpool hot water heaters have an easy access drain valve that allows users to drain water out of the unit. 1. Step 1 Turn off the manual gas shut-off valve by twisting the valve clockwise.

The gas valve is located on the left side of the hot water heater. 2. Step 2 Shut off the cold water inlet valve by turning it clockwise.

The cold water inlet valve is located on the pipe that connects to the top right section of the hot water heater. 3. Step 3 Turn on all of the hot water taps in the home, including the taps in the kitchen and bathroom sinks, shower and laundry room, if applicable.

This will drain a majority of the water from the hot water tank. 4. Step 4 Close all of the taps when the water stops flowing.5.

Step 5 Place a bucket under the hot water heater drain valve. The valve is located on the lower front part of the unit, to the right of the thermostats.6. Step 6 Open the drain valve to drain the remaining water in the tank.

You may have to dump the bucket a few times when draining the tank if a significant amount of water remained in the tank.7. Step 7 Close the drain valve when the water stops draining from the hot water heater. Sources: http://www.ehow.com/how_5557162_drain-whirlpool-hot-water-heater.html .

5 Truths About Flamelock Whirlpool Water Heaters. Whirlpool has been the leader in appliance over the years. However, I have found it disappointing to discover Whirlpool water heaters - especially the Flame Lock Gas Water Heater - are riddled with unexpected and disappointing problems.

Who is to blame? Better yet, what can we do? The truth is discussed below.

These are facts retrieved gathered from Consumer Affairs, and presented to you for investigative purposed only.1. The company that manufactures Whirlpool water heaters is American Water heater Company. The company has a history of top of the line water heaters for light commercial and residential needs in both electric and gas models.

American Water Heater Company also manufactures water heaters for such companies as GE. American Water Heater Company is definitely one of the top makers of water heaters in the USA.2. Flamelock Whirlpool water heaters are sold exclusively by Lowes.

This may not be a bad thing, but this means that you have to get replacement parts at a price set by Lowes. In addition, this one piece goes out a lot. There have been reports of this part going out within 6-months of purchasing a brand new Flamelock whirlpool water heater. In one case, it took less than 7 weeks.

This is obviously not a good circumstance to find yourself in.3. Lets talk about the thermocouple. Most thermocouples are right threaded, and pretty much are universal froe company to the next.

However, with the Flamelock whirlpool water heater the changed the thermocouple. For this particular water heater. The thermocouple is left threaded.

Low and behold, the thermocouple is the one piece that is the weakest spot on this whirlpool water heater. Then, when this piece breaks, the company is lax in returning messages or offering help. Of course, a repair person can usually get it a bit faster, but with so many problems, you have to wonder if that 12-year warranty is worth the hassle.4.

The warranty is at best... shotty. You have to pay $10 for shipping and handling to get a replacement part that would cost $15 at Lowes. Then, you are stuck with only being able to apply the warranty the first time the piece breaks.

This is definitely not doing anything to improve the customer relations of company that has fallen down that proverbial ladder of success.5. The company is skeptical of the problems with the Flamelock whirlpool water heaters. They have claimed that the flame-trap needs to be cleaned once every 3-months, but the manual says once a year.

This simple process is said to take 5-10 minutes in the manual, yet an expert repairman has said that it took him more than one hour. The conflicting information leads me to question the validity of this water heater, and nthis company. Not all Whirlpool water heaters will have this same problem.

However, the customer service has been seriously declining over the past two decades. Is there a quick fix? I do not know, but before you purchase a whirlpool water heater, be aware that once you buy the water heater, you are on your own.

The inlet and outlet are down below the top of the tank witch makes it impossible to tighten Whirlpool Hot Water Heaters Complaints The hot and cold water lines are bitch to seal. Installed one less than a year ago had to install another because the liner cracked and was leaking water putting the pilot out. The new one from lowes was the same way asa the old on cant get it to seal.

Called Whirpool on the first one they did give return code to take the old one back. The inlet and outlet are down below the top of the tank witch makes it impossible to tighten. Tryed every thing nothing works but over 100 pounds of torque on them still won't seal.

The last one leak until it sealed itself! Will not buy anything else from Whirlpool. Darin P.
