Lieberman says many health care changes can wait An independent senator counted on by Democrats in the health care debate showed signs of wavering Sunday when he urged President Barack Obama to postpone many of his initiatives because of the economic downturn. "I'm afraid we've got to think about putting a lot of that off until the economy's out of recession," said Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.
"There's no reason we have to do it all now, but we do have to get started. And I think the place to start is cost health delivery reform and insurance market reforms."news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090823/ap_on_go_co... It is just another strategy ... Government taking over health care is just bad, whether it is done cold turkey or incrementally it is just plain bad! Putting a frog in a hot pan means he will jump out immediately. Put him in and gradually increase the heat and you’ll have a cooked frog!
Lieberman is suggesting cooking the frog more slowly and this he feels will get more approval from the electorate. I hope he is wrong! I hope people will have the brains to protest any plan our leaders have for frying us!
Lieberman is more moderate and maybe more trusted, it may be the strategy of the whole bunch to let him lead the way, figuring we will trust him more than the others who are more obviously out for our destruction! .
1 I wouldn't judge the health of anything on the words of the flakiest Senator in Washington. Joe Lieberman? .

3 He is echoing what many Americans are saying, I am sure. Change is needed, but let us stabilize the economy a bit and perhaps do it in stages--excellent, common-sense reasoning, IMHO. "the place to start is cost health delivery reform and insurance market reforms"--makes sense to me!
Find the problems behind the problem, and start there.

4 Poppet, I totally agree. I'm so glad that Sen. Lieberman is saying this. It's important that the Democrats hear this kind of logic from one of their own.
I'm also thrilled that they are down one vote in their plan to shove their wishes through without any bi-partisan support.

Does it frustrate you that probably 70% of Americans don't keep up with politics, don't even care what is going on yet" (14 answers).
This really isn't about politics or the health care bill ... but isn't it odd that.
Does obama health care plan offer insurance options for transplant receipients.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
