Does video quality get affected when connected to an external vga monitor or converting the computer signal to tv signal?

Does video quality get affected when connected to an external vga monitor or converting the computer signal to tv signal I connected my laptop to an external vga monitor to watch a dvd movie on the program "TOSHIBA DVD PLAYER"in vista. When trying to watch the movie, the message on the external screen comes up: Unable to play dvd on external monitor, please watch on default screen. Everthing was perfect in the ext.

Screen except the computer refused to play the movie as long as it was connected to the ext. Monitor. So my question is does connecting to an external monitor require more RAM, does the display driver have to work extra hard to play the video on an external monitor, and what if I converted the vga signal to tv signal to watch the dvd.

Would it make any difference? I thought that message was ridiculous and probably a flaw in the dvd player program. Asked by ssnader 26 months ago Similar questions: video quality affected connected external vga monitor converting computer signal tv Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

Video quality get affected when connected to an external vga monitor.. You may want to look for a video codec pack onlineso that your players can support these media types. I know that my windows media player will play all dvd's and avi file types. Just check for updates for your software.

I would also look for updates for the Toshiba dvd player program. I don't know if this will fix the problem with your external display, but windows media should be able to support more file types than you are currently describing. I also use Divx media player to create Divx files.

I can drag on average 6 avi movie files onto one dvd disc and create a divx disc in about 10 minutes to then play in my dvd player which has a divx logo on it. (I picked up a Phillips brand dvd player with a Divx logo on it at wally world for a whopping 30 bucks. ) The files read as data files much like a jpeg picture disc reads as data files.

I can press enter on the dvd remote when the cursor is on the file and it plays like a dvd with no chapters. I like this feature because I can watch 6 movies in a row without even having to change the disc, and I don't have to have an expensive disc changer to do so. Another thing you may want to try in regards to the external display, connect your external monitor before opening the player software. My external display will not show if I already have programs running.

I have to have all windows closed when I turn on the external display, and viola' it shows me the display as well as anything I do on my laptop including any media player in high resolution and full vibrant color. My laptop has an HDMI output on it though and not a VGA output. I don't really know if this makes a difference.

The HDMI output also supports digital audio where the VGA will support video signal only I believe. This article discusses the multimedia file types that Microsoft Windows Media Player supports and provides a sample of most of these file types. If problems occur when you play a supported file type from another source, Microsoft recommends that you try a sample file from this article that has the same extension.

If you can play the sample file, there may be a problem with the file from the other source that you are trying to play. Ssnader replied to post #1: 2 Media player doesn't play dvd vob files and the avi files it does play are low resolution and probably require less ram or stress on the display driver than dvd vob files. No vob files work right in many other dvd players I try to play in external screen. Some will work but the color quality of the video will be bad when watching in external screen.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
