Every season there are players who exceed and fail to meet expectations. As the baseball season nears the end of the first quarter of the s?

I am going to just point out the Detroit Tigers baseball team since they have 4 rookies getting significant playing time in the field. Two have exceeded expectations while two have struggled. On the plus side: Austin Jackson - Center Field - acquired from the New York Yankees in an off season trade.

He started out the season with a bang and was American League "Rookie of the Month" in April. After the first 37 games and 157 at bats he is hitting .331 with 9 doubles, 3 triples and a home run. He has also scored 28 runs and driven in 10 from the leadoff spot.

Brennan Boesch - Left Field - began the season with Triple A Toledo where he was hitting .379 prior to his call up. Voted the best power hitter in Double A ball in 2009, he has displayed the same since hitting the pros. Don't be surprised to see this guy capture player of the month honors for May.

Since his call up he has appeared in 19 games and seems to have won the left fielders job. He is hitting .380 with 19 RBIs, 3 home runs, 8 doubles and 2 triples. All of this in only 71 at bats.

On the negative side: Scott Sizemore - 2nd base - Was awarded the 2nd base position when All Star Placido Polanco was not resigned. He was recently sent back to the minors after having committed 6 errors and hitting only .206. The team feels he has put too much pressure on himself to replace Polanco, a fan favorite.

Alex Avila - Catcher - is still on the team as a backup and therein may lay the problem. He is not receiving consistent at bats and as a young player with very little time in the minors is finding it difficult to adjust. He showed very well at the end of the season in 2009 and displayed both a good average and power numbers. To date his best achievement has been his defense behind the plate and a 2 home game against the Minnesota Twins.

S present struggles include a .143 batting average with only 2 RBIs. Lat year he hit .279 with 5 home runs in limited end of the season playing time.

For this question I’m going to focus on the Chicago Cubs since that is my favorite team and so I follow them much closer than other teams. For the player who is having the most positive impact, which is also incredibly surprising is starting pitcher Carlos Silva. Silva was brought over in a trade that the Cubs and Seattle Mariners swung basically so both teams could get rid of highly paid busts.

The Cubs sent over Milton Bradley. Since coming to the Cubs, Silva has surprised everyone by being the most consistent starter going 4-0 with a 3.50 earned run average. The most disappointing player on the Cubs is Aramis Ramirez.

Through the middle of May, the Cubs’ cleanup hitter is still well under .200 in batting average and hasn’t hit a home run since mid-April. S struggles can be directly tied to the team’s struggles as his inability to drive anyone in, has been a huge problem for an offense that has struggled all year.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
