There is no hiding. Global warming is just what it says, global. Global warming will affect the entire world, so also the entire US.

For the entire country, temperature will rise, sea-levels will rise. So, best location will probably be a location which is currently colder than average, but at least five meters above sea-level. Those locations should be 'relatively safe'.

However, all locations will be affected, and at this moment there is no way to calculate the exact effects. Fi. If global warming would have an effect on the warm gulf stream, or other major influences, some areas might actually become much colder (see New York in "The Day After Tomorrow")So, better just get your government to counter the effects of global warming!

More important to be flexible and have the resources to be resilient This is a good question but I don't think there is a simple answer. Some general global and regional trends appear to be evident, but at this point no one can predict accurately the climate at a particular spot on the earth twenty years from now. Living in areas very close to sea level (say, 5 feet or less above sea level) is probably a bad idea, but that's already a bad idea today and would be even without anthropogenic climate change.

There's a reason why rich people like houses on top of hills... I would suggest that instead of thinking about "passive" self-protection -- picking the safest place to dwell -- you think more about "active" self-protection: configuring your life so that you have savings, a portable vocation, good health and fitness, an optimistic and flexible outlook on life, a strong social network -- so that you can be more resilient in the face of the "unknown unknowables. " .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
