I don't know if it's compatible, but it seems unnecessary to have with a Shuffle. All you need with a shuffle are earbuds, pretty much. I would return the accessory bundle and give the 11 yo an Itunes gift card to purchase music instead!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
