Wow, I have so many. I am by no means an English major (you will probably find issues in this post) but I HATE basic third grade mistakes. Improper use of a or an.
Improper use of to, too, and two Improper use of their and there I have a question... I had heard they changed the rules but I want confirmation. When listing things do you put a comma before "and". For instance: I have to go to the mall, the gym, and school.
Or I have to go to the mall, the gym and school. I was taught that the last comma was not required. Now my younger siblings say they are required.

Ending sentences with prepositions, and being redundant! AAARRRGGGHHHH! Like nails on a chalkboard.
I can't stand when people say things like, "Where are you at? " , or, for instance, answering machine messages that say, "We're currently not here at present". If I had to choose just one, it would be prepostions at the end of sentences, though.It really gets to me!

Affect and effect, yours and your's, compliment and complement Okay, I'm a grammar snob, but really, folks: The heater affects the temperature in the room. The effect of the heater is to raise the temperature of the room. When criticizising someone else's grammar, you should make sure that yours is impeccable.
Make sure, then, that you don't use the incorrect "your's. " Finally, a red wine rarely compliments a steak on its flavor, but it does complement it well. I have been known to mention this one in finer restaurants..
At the top of my list is "lay" and "lie. " "Lie" means to put something down. "Lay" means to recline.
People misuse them all the time! "Good" and "well" is very near the top, too--and "hopefully. " You rarely hear that used correctly any more.
I don't suppose there is much we can do about it. Outside of the classroom, correcting people's grammar is generally found offensive. Mostly, I just grin and bear it.
These days, there are several good websites for English grammar. See the references below for "lie" and "lay. " It's good to know that they are so readily available for people who recognize that they have problems and want to correct them.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
