GTX 670 FTW or 7970 OC Boost?

Well between those two it's a tough choice. The 7970 will get higher fps in most titles but the GTX 670 FTW has hardware-level PhysX support, CUDA and and Nvidia's drivers are better, which can make for a better gaming experience (fewer issues with screen tearing, incorrect display of textures & shadows, better overall stability etc). http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/09... Here are results with AMD's version 12.11 Catalyst drivers, which improves the performance of 7000 series cards.

With that release, the HD 7970 pulls ahead of the GTX 680 in some titles. So for pure speed, AMD is the winner. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/C... Anyway, here's the showdown between the very highest-end cards.

It helps to clarify all of the considerations besides raw fps. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rade... Relleka what are you smoking? The Radeon HD 7950's direct competitor is the GeForce GTX 660 Ti.

The HD HD 7870's direct competitor is the GeForce GTX 660. The Radeon HD 7850 and GeForce GTX 670 don't have direct competitors. The Radeon HD 7850 is above the GeForce GTX 650 Ti but below the GTX 660.

Likewise the GeForce GTX 670 outperforms the Radeon HD 7950 but doesn't quite match the HD 7970 & GTX 680. Even EVGA's FTW version of the 670 doesn't *quite* match the higher-level cards. Admittedly it's not a big difference, about 4-5 fps at 1920x1080 on ultra settings, or about 2-3pfs at 2560x1600.

7970: PROS: Quicker OpenCL than NVIDIA, stronger gaming card, if you're using an aftermarket cooler it can overclock to better performance than a GTX 680. CONS: No CUDA, higher power consumption than the 670, no PhysX. 670: PROS: OpenCL and CUDA Support, strong gaming card, stronger workstation card, PhysX, better 3D support, lower power consumption CONS: OpenCL is slower than on the ATI card, runs a litter hotter than the ATI version, doesn't overclock as high as the ATI card.

Overall, I'd probably go with the 7970 unless you really need to use CUDA. Hope you get great results!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
