I've been involved in a few The key is to have professionals do it. There is always a potential for things to shift and wrack during the lifting and lowering process, and of course, the quality of your improved foundation will determine future settling. The biggest problem I have dealt with is, of course, reconnecting electrical wiring, but there will also be plumbing issues and such to consider..

Maybe I know of instances where it was done but it's (a) expensive and, on a small house, it might just be cheaper to knock it down and rebuild, and (b) it needs to be done by experienced professionals with the right equipment. It is definitely not a do-it-yerself project.

1 TheLightWorks, regarding your answer "I've been involved in a few": for the record, most of the ones I've been involved in have been to improve the view or to raise the house above flood level.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
