How accurate is the Google Translate translator?

Translation is always difficult to do and by machine even more difficult. Google Translate is evolving but as previous answerer says not quite there. Google has taken a different approach to translation using statistical rather than linguistic methods.In theory, if there are enough translated documents between the two languages then the translation should be pretty good.

But with this approach it depends on the quality of the translated documents. My experience has been that it is good enough to understand what the web page is trying to communicate but certainly couldn't turn around and use it. I continue to return to Google in hopes that one day they will have a breakthrough in their Spanish-English translator tool so that I can have all my widgets on my Google home page, but to no avail. I am constantly disappointed with the results. It is helpful for single words, essentially taking the place of a dictionary.

More often than not, the translations are poor and often unitelligible. I use SpanishDict. Com for my translations since several results are provided for one translation.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
