How can a seller get retribution against an eBay buyer who communicates inappropriately?

I refused to acquiesce when a buyer tried to extort money from me--I gave him a refund. S response:"Or you didn't have to do anything or say anything. Most of the time people just ignore what I ask and continue on with the transaction.

Instead you had to cry about it and lose a sale, an insignificant sale but a sale. Hopefully someday you learn to man up, keep your mouth shut, stop being stubborn and make a successful sale. Stop tring to make a point to sombody across the country because they don't care.

Your right I did ask you the question after I purchased. I was willing to eat the shipping cost, but most people have a conscious and would not of doubled the shipping for a couple of stupid water bottles. I guess times are tough and you need to steel money somehow.

You would be surprised how many times the price of something was changed to my benefit, just for asking a simple question. Don't reply, it will be deleted before I read it.1 more thing...WAAAAAA WAAA...... Technically, it's not 'inappropriate. ' *Obviously, the buyer has a maturity problem, meaning they're NOT MATURE. *Obviously, the buyer is a rambler.

*Obviously, the buyer feels the need to have "the last word," to TRY to make you feel small, to TRY to tell you how to do business, to go on and on and on and on about "an insignificant sale," BUT... unfortunately (for the purpose of retribution), he does not threaten you, cuss at you, and does not seem to have a plan to continue to harrass you. I doubt that any "retribution" action can be taken. A lot of people get piffed with a seller (or a buyer)...can you imagine what would happen if EBay "disciplined" every immature, rambling member of their site?

I'd chalk it up to experience. Block them from buying from you again. Wait till they rate you, and then (if you feel it's truly necessary) give them a horrible buyer rating and a detailed negative feedback comment about the transaction.

Hope my opinion helps .

1 Post Scriptum:In the PayPal payment he requested that I give him a "gift" for charging too much shipping. The summation of the order came to $18 (after shipping) for two new 32oz BPA-free Nalgene bottles?! Now I suppose he'll give me negative feedback for not shipping this--what can we sellers do now that we have no feedback "privileges"?

Anyways, here is the "horrendous" message that motivated him to be so rude:"I'm sorry that you felt the shipping was too high but what most eBay buyers don't understand is that often when the shipping costs are higher, the item itself costs proportionally less. Besides, the price must not have been that bad since you willing bought two from me knowing the costs in advance. To be honest, eBay sellers like to charge more for shipping because it ironically SAVES both you and I more money (Sellers pay a final value fee on the costs, and not on the shipping, therefore we can afford to sell it for less overall, when the shipping costs are higher. But since you are dissatisfied with the costs and felt obligated to receive a "gift", I decided it would be best to refund your money since I have nothing to offer.

I will eat the listing fee costs and there are no hard feelings on my end.Thanks." .

If he left what you feel is bad feedback, then contact EBay. If you want retribution because of an e-mail, sorry. You need to delete it and move on.

Be the bigger person in this matter.

GBen82 replied to post #2: 3 OK, retribution was a poor word choice. My motivation really is to get information, to better understand what rights/options eBay sellers and buyers have. I understand how the old "sticks and stones" rhyme can easily be applied here, still it's neither professional, nor appropriate for anyone, seller or buyer, to communicate in such a manner.

Just like askville. Com has mediators that maintain a certain level of etiquette, so eBay should take some responsibility to keep people's "tongues" in check. I just wanted to see, more for my own information, if such a system of accountability exists.

And if it doesn't, why not? .

Poppet! Said: 5 I think I understand what happened here. The buyer asked for some kind of discount, and you responded in a way that probably wasn't as cool and professional as you could have, which then set the buyer off and you lost the sale.

But lets take a look at what happened, from your own words. It looks to me like you are in violation of Ebay rules, I believe, for overcharging the shipping to offset the lower purchase price, which means you are in avoidance of paying Ebay fees...so, I would say in this case the buyer is the one who should be upset. He/She could report you for that.In the future, I would say leave out all the personal info-- a more professional approach for you to take would be to simply say "I'm sorry, my prices are set".

It doesn't take a whole lot of explanation.

" "As a buyer is there a way for me to see if a seller has left feedback about me?" "Ebay seller doesn't package properly. Buyer declines insurance, who's fault? youtube.com/watch?v=DAueui_lpi4" "How can I get my item back from an ebay buyer?" "How do you find an ebay category where the buyer/seller ratio is close to maximal?

What seller and what buyer needs to do to get combined shipping.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
