Today we have come a long way in understanding the importance of healing touch. For instance, researchers have reported decreased cortisol and increased numbers and activity of natural killer cell activity following massage therapy. Natural killer cells are immune system cells that are important in killing virus-infected cells and cancer cells.
Some researchers believe that massage or hands-on therapies might increase the body's natural production of the brain chemical serotonin, which is associated with pain-relieving effects. We know that massage therapy improves blood circulation, speeds healing, and lowers the stress hormones cortisol and norepinephrine, which is thought to diminish their deleterious effect on the immune system. A relaxing massage can also lower blood pressure and heart rate.
Additionally, the innocuous “touch signals” may actually lessen the pain intensity somewhat. Nonetheless, whether or not healing touch causes physiological changes in the body, it simply feels good to be touched. I don’t think anyone would deny that a deep muscle massage can alleviate back pain and make you feel renewed, or firm pressure on an aching joint can help to stop the throbbing pain.
That’s why I believe touch therapies to be an important part of a woman’s plan to end pain.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
