HOw can you get cat urine out of a mattress? I already tried Urine Be Gone but it's still there?

I already tried Urine Be Gone but it's still there. I covered it with a plastic mattress cover to cover it up but would still like to get rid of it. Will time take care of it eventually?

I would run, not walk, to Petco or a similar store. I'd buy a gallon of Natures Miracle and pour it on the mattress. I don’t know if you are familiar with the product but it is supposed to remove urine odors.

Petco has its own brand called Simple Solution and it is less expensive than Natures Miracle. And even that may not get it all out. Cat urine is tough!

Try it and see what you get. I'd put it outside to dry but its the wrong time of year for folks on the East Coast. I'm in CT and you're in NJ.

I don't think so In this case time doesn’t make things better. Cat pee seems to develop even more over time. If you don’t like the crackle of the plastic mattress cover you might want to put a padded cover over the plastic one.

However If this were my problem, rather than lose sleep over sleeping over Lake Kitty, I would toss the mattress. Then I would put on one of those waterproof mattress covers with the padded tops (see QVC about $42) on the new mattress. If leaky-cat gets back in the bedroom again, all you will have to do is toss the cover into the washer.

There are some things to try Outright stain and odor remover- which is sold at the vet, if your vet doesn’t have it he/she can order it, I think Amazon has it too. This stuff got cat urine out of my carpet when nothing else worked. Nature’s Mircale- works on most nasty ordors.

You can try a more natural approach I don't know if this will work on a mattress but it works on flooors like tile. White Vinegar is a naturall way to get rid of the odor. It will likely leave behind the smell of Vinegar.

But that is better than cat urine. I haven't ever tried it in furniture so I am only guessing it will work the same as it does on tile floors. Good luck.
