1 OE is a Pop/Imap client. It downloads your emails from a server and optionally deletes them from there. Anything downloaded to your local computer can't be accessed from another computer, unless it's on your local network and you know where to look.

2 You are right, you can't. Outlook Express downloads your emails into your computer. From then on, that is where those messages are located.

Then the only way to get those emails remotely is to have remote access to your computer. There used to be a Norton utility called Remote Control that, once you installed it on two computers, let one computer control the other. It would be like you were sitting at the remote computer.

But I haven't heard of it in a long time. If you want access to your email from ANY computer, without having to install software, use a web-based email approach like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. Outlook Express has gotten a reputation as a security risk. If you must use a traditional local email client, use Pegasus Mail (free, easy to use, secure, extremely powerful) or Eudora Lite (which was, last I checked, less powerful but slightly nicer looking.

) We used Pegasus Mail at our office exclusively, until we started moving to Gmail.

3 You can access the new emails from the server that serves your Outlook right now:There are two ways:1. Sign into your ISP Server .com...On line and go to E Mail...That is the easy way!2. If your away and on another computer for a while: Set up an Outlook E Mail account identical to your one at home computer.

Just remember when leaving that computer to delete the new Outlook account.Blessings........Annlee .

Karlc replied to post #3: 4 Re #1. Not all ISP's offer web mail. Ours doesn't, for instance.

But gmail is trivially easy to set up, is free, and offers features that many ISP's web mail services do not. Re #2. You can temporarily configure Outlook to retrieve email, then delete the account.

But then both the email you downloaded and all the replies you sent back will be gone forever. They won't show up on your primary computer at all. There will be a hole in your email history.

You can fill the gap partially by setting Outlook on the secondary computer to not delete email on the server when it is downloaded to the computer. Then, when you return to your primary computer, your email will still be downloaded again. But your replies will still be missing.

Outlook went obsolete in the 90's, when dozens of security holes were discovered. Were they all patched? Who knows?

Gmail (just to name one alternative) has automatic spam filtering, and you can get all your email, and all your replies, all the time, on any computer with internet access.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
